Visual Designer for online publication produced by Norient titled “ Delhi Sensate “ Curated by

Norient City Sounds

The third edition of the Norient City Sounds series is moored in Delhi, India, as it tunes in to a

polyphony of voices, songs, sounds, and narratives that reimagine and unconceal the various

worlds and characters constituting the capital’s sonicities. NCS Delhi unpacks and complicates the notion of the city by scattering it into its many cities with their colliding histories, rhythms, tales, and desires. Through a collection of sound pieces, texts, films, photo-essays, conversations, graphic artworks, and more, #DelhiSensate evokes the deeply layered and composite sensorium of a city that both senses and is sensed in a multitude of ways.

As Visual Designer for Norient City Sounds, my responsibilities primarily included supporting the

Norient appointed curator in defining the core concept and design of a visual language for the

special, and to translate the visual identity into individual collaterals for the digital and onsite

release of the NCS Special.

Shot and edited the publication trailer . I created the soundtrack for the trailer as well.

As part of the publication, I composed a sound piece titled “ Remembering Ishrat Meenai

“ along with an essay which was my contribution to the series.

Description : The sonic composition opens a window to Jamia’s past through its echoes in the

present. Jamia Millia Islamia, a central university in Delhi, celebrated its centenary year in 2020.

The author introduces a conversation between different generations in his family to delve into and construct the sonic memory of Jamia, a part of the city that he calls home.
