Goa in the 21st century continues to be sold as an ideal tourist fantasy - sandy beaches,

warm sunshine, an escape from the urban. Conversely, in the recesses of this small state,

centuries of forest cover is being comprehensively converted into prime real estate -

leaving behind a ghostly trail of ecological destruction.

What happens to entire communities

when forced to sever ties with their land, forests and rivers that have nurtured them for
